Teaching Hand Drawn Animation

Hand drawn animation, in the way I use to do at Disney and it's principles are complex to grasp in a 3 hour class. It might had been a lot of information in a short time for the new students but I am sure they got a few things that I tried to explain. It takes a while to master it and slowly they will develop it and will become second nature to them.
I loved teaching theses classes and I want to thank the students for their patience with me and to the Nemo Academy for the opportunity.

Magazine Illustration

If you find this magazine, get it for 2 reasons: First, Salma Hayek and second for an article illustrated by yours truly. A first time I did illustration for a magazine.

This is a new thing for me, a magazine illustration job is very different than animation work and I loved doing it. It was for the Mexican GQ magazine. The assignment was to draw the 10 best dressed personalities of all time and there's also a little interview with me. If you are in Mexico, check it out. Thanks to GQ editor Alfredo Cervera for the opportunity.

Kubo

Since Laika has already unveiled the characters of it's new film Kubo and there are a few behind the scenes out there, I thought I could show some of my little contribution to it. Thanks to it's creator C Shannon Tindle, who hired me to do some animation tests and character expressions. It was also fun to work in house at the studio for a week and meet the great and talented folks there. The art work I saw during my stay was truly amazing and I can not wait to see the final film.
